Phil has vast experience in Musculoskeletal physiotherapy specialising in back and neck problems, often treating people who have exhausted all other rehabilitation options. Phil empowers people to manage their spinal and other joint problems utilising her knowledge and experience as a McKenzie Method® tutor.

Phil’s fastidious interest in evidence-based practice enables her to treat all aspects of musculoskeletal problems of the body using the most up to date manual therapy techniques and knowledge, including chronic joint and muscle pain. As well as offering individual treatment sessions, she also provides joint consultation sessions with the specialist Neurophysiotherapists looking at movement patterns and how these impact on the efficiency of function.

Phil has held several senior posts in the NHS in Yorkshire and Lancashire, including a clinical specialist role in the “Pennine Acute Trust”, working alongside orthopaedic consultants. Phil also worked as a Physiotherapist in Bangladesh for many years, where she has transformed the lives of many people and made great strides in the teaching of physiotherapy. She has been involved in teaching physiotherapy in Afghanistan, Madagascar, India, and in other developing countries. Phil has spent many years as a volunteer for the homeless which includes providing Physiotherapy treatment for the staff and occupants of Georges Crypt in Leeds.
Phil is also a Senior Lecturer of Physiotherapy and Sports Therapy at Leeds Beckett University, teaching postgraduate physiotherapy courses. She is on the register of Exercise professionals (REPs) and has a Crossfit level 1 training certificate having a passion for maximising functional fitness for people with impairments.
