Fiona McKeever
Specialist Physiotherapist Neurology
Grad Dip Phys MCSP
Fiona has over 20 years of Neurological Physiotherapy experience working within the NHS and over 5 years of working in the independent sector. Fiona is a specialist physiotherapist in the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease (PD) and has extensive experience and training in this field alongside advanced Bobath training.
More recently Fiona has completed specialist PD warrior training which she has implemented with her patients in the form of a Parkinson’s Disease Exercise class. The PD class helps patients with mild to moderate symptoms by encouraging them to carry out a structured program of high intensity neuroactive exercises that have been clinically demonstrated to reduce or delay the onset of PD symptoms.
During the Covid-19 crisis the weekly classes were able to continue via a virtual group, which allowed more people to join from around the region. The virtual class (currently held via Zoom) allows greater accessibility allowing patients to join from the comfort of their own home. The virtual classes were so successful that they continue alongside an option for patients to attend face to face classes if preferable.
Fiona’s areas of special interest are Parkinson’s Disease (PD) Hydrotherapy, and Elderly care with mobility and balance problems.
