Care Skills Training is a Yorkshire based organisation providing specialist Physiotherapist-led training for healthcare workers in a range of areas. Our aim is to deliver the highest standard of competency based training courses for healthcare staff, enabling them to develop the skills and knowledge they need to provide excellent patient care.

 

About us

 

Providing training from 1997, Care Skills training is based in Rawdon, West Yorkshire. Our training team comprises four qualified physiotherapists. When you use Care Skills, you’re tapping into a vast amount of in-depth knowledge and hands-on specialist experience. Our aim is to develop the skills your team need to deliver excellence at every level of care.

Topics in a standard 7.5-hour course:

  • Postural management – sitting and lying

  • Prevention of pressure sores

  • Improving activity and functional independence

  • Assisting people to move including walking assistance, and moving in bed

  • Safe moving and handling  (review not induction)

  • Falls prevention

  • Person-centred care

  • Capacity and consent

  • Techniques for feeding
